REVOLVER WITH 4" BARREL. Cal. 44 Magnum. S# S168521. Bbl. 4". Mfg. 1956-1957. Double action revolver built on 5-screw, square butt N frame. .500" checkered target hammer. .500" serrated target trigger. Red ramp insert front sight. White outline, micrometer click, adjustable rear sight. Shrouded extractor. Fluted, counter-bored, 6 shot cylinder. Nickel finish. 6 groove serrated front strap & backstrap. Matching numbers on frame, barrel, cylinder & extractor. Smooth wood grips w/ S&W medallions. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Correct dark blue S&W case, blue satin lined w/ clasp latch. Original cleaning kit including knurled aluminum screwdriver, patches, brush & rod. CONDITION: renickeled finish 9-14-66 according to stamp on frame under grips is complete & consistent w/ some light signs of use visible under close inspection. A few tiny areas of flaking & staining. Butt is star marked without “N” for nickel. Thin drag line on cylinder. 1970s vintage smooth target grips in nice shape w/ a few light impressions and a small area of finish delamination on rear of right grip. Mainspring has been shaved & grips refinished. Timing appears to be correct. Bore is bright w/ strong rifling. (23-2128/JZ). CURIO. $2,500-3,500.
