RELIEF SCROLLING ACANTHUS BY U. MUTTI. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 3/4". S# 29074. Bbls. 27 1/4" dovetailed w/ slightly raised flat matted rib are marked "CHROM NITRO STEEL " BOEHLER" on tops. Side of left barrel is engraved "Armi Flli Bertuzzi" and with their address. Bbl. flats are stamped with 1968 Italian nitro proofs and are engraved "Armi Bertuzzi". Coin finished sidelock action features non-automatic safety, hidden third fastener, bushed strikers w/ gas vents, slight re-enforce to action raised rib tumbler end cocking indicators & double triggers. Action is engraved w/ near full coverage very nicely sculpted shaded open semi relief scrolling acanthus w/ floral highlights w/in scroll & geometric borders. This treatment extends to fences where it is a bit more deeply carved. Engravers signature "U Mutti" is on trigger plate. Mr. Mutti was a master engraver working mostly for Beretta. Trigger guard is also scroll engraved. Dense nicely marbled & figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14 3/8" over brown leather covered pad. Well cut point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching semi-beavertail ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameters: left - .719, restriction .014 (Mod), right - .719 restriction .004 (IC). Minimum wall thickness: left - .027, right - .030. DAH: 2 1/2"+ DAC: 1 7/16". No cast. WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 12 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: brown leather case w/ leather corners is lined in burgundy felt contains two keys. CONDITION: very fine. Bbls. retain approx. 95% original blue w/ a few light marks & dings. Action & lockplates retain nearly all of their attractive somewhat toned coin finish. Stocks have most of what appears to be their original finish w/ a few light marks w/ some added oil with installation of newer pad & plugging of swivel stud on toeline. Bbls. have plug screws in bottom rib. Bores are very fine, bright & shiny. Action is tight. Mechanically fine w/ strong ejectors. Case is fine. (20-920/MGM80). CURIO. $12,000-18,000.
