CONSECUTIVELY NUMBERED (S# 20 & S# 21)PAIR OF PUMP SHOTGUNS. Both Cal. 410. 3". Production of model 42s began w/ serial number 1 in 1933. GUN 1: S# 20. Bbl. 26" plain w/ fixed full choke & steel bead. Small round grooved forearm. Pistol gripped stock of nicely grained walnut w/ original buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: picture box w/ inserts. Partially intact label has added hand written serial number 20. Box has taped corners, tape damage w/ faded picture. CONDITION: metal retains over 90% dull blue indicating possible touch up finish. Sanded wood has a dark refinish. Bright near excellent bore. (23-4890/DS). GUN 2: S# 21. Bbl. 26" w/ solid rib & fixed full choke. Solid rib barrels were not cataloged until 1934. Bottom of bbl. has original 2 digit date code "33". Could this be the first solid rib Model 42 produced? Steel front bead. Small round grooved forearm. Pistol grip stock w/ original buttplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: picture box w/ inserts. Partially intact label has hand written serial number 21. Box has torn corners, tape damage w/ small areas of the top picture missing. CONDITION: over 95% blue showing slide wear & possible touch up. Very good original wood finish showing small marks & dents. Bright near excellent bore. (23-4891/DS). BOTH CURIO. $6,000-9,000.
