Dumonthier double barrel knife pistol showing ornate cast silvered and black accent grips in a rare small size with scabbard and rammer. The knife pistol measures 10 ½” overall with 6 ¼” blade and the percussionbarrels are 3” of approximately .36 caliber. The blade is fancy etched in scroll motives with portraits of Cavaliers in armor matching in design to the scroll and cast figures on the grips. The grip is a cast silver orGerman silver with blackened background to simulate niello decoration. The figures are very well detailed with a French soldier on the left and knight in armor on right. The hammers and mechanism are of the Dumonthierstyle and the action works well. The pistol is in good condition with some minor pitting on the barrel’s. The etching on the blade nearly all intact and crisp. The grips are sharp and crisp. The scabbard is in very good condition and showing a hanging type loop and a combination cleaning and loading rod. A unique and deluxe knife pistol with truly beautiful grips which may well be one-of-a-kind. Est.: $3,500-$7,000.
