Double barrel French flintlock shotgun signed Gheret A’Paris on locks circa about 1790-1810 and remaining in good original condition. The gun is in 20 gauge showing 27 ½” barrels and is 43 ½” overall of medium weight. The touch holes and pans are platinum lined and the gun is of very good quality. The stock is in typical French form with a half stock and checkering. The metal surfaces show a deep brown patina with light to moderate pitting and erosion which is mostly on thebarrels. The locks show a good clear and well engraved signature. The gun is in its original flintlock configuration with top jaw screws being old replacements. The tang has been cracked. The stocks show an excellent old repair at the wristthat is tight and secure. A very acceptable French flintlock shotgun in a desirable small gauge. Est.: $1750-$3500
