According to the included Colt factory letter, this pistol is equipped with a number of experimental features, including a partially rifled detachable flash supressor, fluted barrel, 2-piece vent rib with the frame section doubling as a guide for a widened slide, an enlarged external slide catch, magazine well safety and an extended grip frame. Patridge blade front sight, with a slot in the frame rail for an adjuatable rear sight. No markings are visible except the serial number. The right handed thumbrest grips have been altered and extended to match the frame. Colt factory letter dated December 18, 2008 documents this rare prototype in great detail!

Condition: Fine, with areas of blue finish on some components, the remainder factory bright, and scattered spotting and handling marks. A pin is absent from the front sight, the magazine and safety are undersized for the weapon and an "A5" label has been applied to the rear of the slide. Grips are crude as factory modified, with dents and chips on the extensions. Mechanically very good.
