Manufactured in 1922. This is an excellent example of a factory engraved Single Action Army revolver. The barrel, frame, cylinder flats, top and heel of the back strap and the trigger guard bow are decorated with floral scroll engraving with a matte background. The top of the ejector housing is decorated with a simple wavy line and the outer edge with a wedge of flora scroll with a matte background. Behind each cylinder flute is a star burst. The top of the back strap is engraved with the distinctive "V" shape of Glahn. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line address, "38 W.C.F." on the left side and the left side of the frame is marked with the two-line, three patent dates followed by the Rampant Colt. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the frame and on the right side of the grip straps under the grip. The right rear of the frame and the loading gate are marked with the assembly number "539". Blade front and frame notch rear sights, all nickel finish and fitted with pearl grips with a steer head carved on the right panel, with ruby red eyes. The accompanying factory letter verifies the caliber, barrel length, nickel finish, factory engraving with grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to Shapleigh Hardware Company, St. Louis, Missouri on December 23, 1922.

There is some minor flaking on the barrel at the address and the front sight has been reduced in height. There are a few areas where the finish is beginning to frost. The grips are fine with a minor chip on each toe and the left heel, and at the frame. The markings and engraving are clear. The action is fine.
