This excellent Colt revolver features factory Grade 1 floral scroll engraving with a punch dot background on the barrel, cylinder flats and frame, with a simple scallop border on the frame. The top of the barrel is marked with the two-line Colt Hartford address/patent dates (1884, 1905 and 1926), with a decorative scallop border, "OFFICERS MODEL 38" flanked by Maltese crosses on the left side of the barrel amid floral scroll engraving and the Rampant Colt on the left side of the frame. Matching serial numbers on the inside of the frame and cylinder crane. Elevation adjustable front and windage adjustable rear sights, checkered trigger, hammer and backstrap, and fitted with smooth pearl grips. The accompanying factory letter verifies the serial number, caliber, 6" barrel, factory Grade 1 engraving, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was a single-gun shipment to Whitney Sporting Goods Co., Denver, Colorado on January 31, 1929.

Condition: Excellent. The revolver retains 98% original blue finish with some muzzle and high edge wear, and a drag line on the cylinder. The grips are excellent. The markings and engraving are crisp. The action is excellent.
