Documented Colt Single Action Army Revolver with Extremely Rare Special Order 9 Inch Barrel with Fac

Estimate: $10000 - 20000
Manufactured in 1891, this revolver is fitted with an exceedingly rare special order 9 inch barrel and has the elongated hammer screw for attaching a shoulder stock, (not included). This exceedingly rare single action is photographed and described on page 251 in The Colt Book of Firearms by Wilson. The heel of the back strap is not cut out, however there is evidence that a stock has been attached at some time. The top of the barrel is marked with the one line address (double rolled), the left side is marked "38 W.C.F." and the left side of the frame is marked with the two line, three patent dates followed by the circled Rampant Colt. Blade front, frame notch rear sights and fitted with checkered hard rubber grips with the Rampant Colt in an oval at the top. The accompanying factory letter addressed to David M. Brown, (Author of the 36 Calibers of the Colt Single Action Army), dated May 14, 1962 verifies the caliber, 9 inch barrel length, blue finish, grips as "Not Listed" and that it was shipped as 1 to R.E.
