This is an excellent example of an early post WWI Weimar era undated Simson & Co. Suhl Luger pistol. They were issued to both the Weimar Police and Military units up through the late 1920s before Hitler came into power and took over the Simson Company. The chamber is undated and the front toggle is marked "SIMSON & Co./SUHL". The right side of the barrel extension has several small Eagle 6, and 33 acceptance proofs along with the small Simson test firing eagle acceptance proof. It has the military style serial number placement with the full serial number on the major components with the last two digits on the small parts with the Eagle/6 Simson acceptance proof on many if not all of the small parts. It has the standard "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" safety and extractor markings. It is fitted with standard checkered walnut grips. It is complete with two magazines; both have the nickel plated magazine body with the aluminum base marked: "Eagle 6/3773/Eagle 6" and "Eagle 6/3773/+/Eagle 6" respectively. It is complete with an original early brown leather holster that is marked on the upper front section "GUSTAV REINHARDT/BERLIN/WaA16", and is complete with an early Eagle/6 take down tool and short cleaning rod.
BBL: 3 7/8 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 3773
Condition: Excellent overall with 98% plus of the blue finish with barely noticable holster wear. The grips are both excellent. The various small parts retain 80% of their straw colors with a touch of heat discoloration present on the rear of trigger. The Luger has all matching numbers to include both magazines. The holster is also fine with a nice light brown color overall showing wear and fading on the magazine pouch and lower toe area mixed with light handling marks and scratches. Overall, an excellent and scarce Simson Luger P.08 Rig!
