This is an excellent example of a early, transitional Mauser Banner Police Luger pistol rig with the standard "Eagle/L" Police proof, that still retains the early "Crown/U" Commercial proof. The top of the chamber area is stamped "1939" for the year of manufacture with the large Mauser/Banner logo on the front toggle. The standard "Eagle/L" Police stamp is located on the right side of the receiver, with the commercial "Crown/U" commercial proofmarks stamped on the left side of the receiver and the breechblock. The full serial number "4467w" is stamped on the front of the frame, with (4467) stamped on the left side of the barrel extension, but not the underside of the barrel with the last two digits of the serial number (67) stamped on the various small parts. The pistol has a salt blue finish and checkered walnut grips. This beautiful Police Luger rig is complete with two original, all blue, matching Police magazines that are correctly marked on the aluminum bases, "1/4467/w" and "2/4467/w" respectively. It is complete with beautiful brown leather Police holster marked on the back side "SCHAMBACH & Co/1939/BERLIN/Police Eagle proofmark.
