Manufactured circa 1941, this example has a ramped front sight with a filler block in the rear sight dovetail and a bolt mounted fully adjustable rear peep sight. The standard markings and proofs are on the barrel and receiver. The top tang has a tapped hole with a filler screw and the left side of the receiver has two holes tapped with filler screws for scope mounting. Mounted on a smooth semi-beavertail walnut forearm and pistol grip stock with sling swivels and a checkered steel buttplate. With a brown leather sling.

Condition: Very fine as modified (tapped holes on left side of frame), 95% original blue finish on balance with some minor wear on the muzzle, along the barrel, high edges and on the buttplate. There are two replacement screws on the left side of the receiver. The wood is very good with scattered minor scratches, a short hairline crack on the left side of the wrist and a moderate chip is present on the right side of the buttstock. Sling is good.
