A nice late WWI Artillery Luger, that features the long 8 inch barrel, with the fully adjustable tangent rear sight. These were intended for artillery and gun emplacement crews that needed a short compact weapon in lieu of a full length rifle. This pistol has the larger 1918 dated chamber area with the "DWM" logo on the front toggle link. The right side of the barrel extension has the "crown/letter" German Army acceptance proofs next to the Imperial Eagle firing proof, which is also stamped on the right side of the barrel and breechblock. It has the proper "GESICHERT" and "GELADEN" markings on the upper safety position and extractor, respectively, and the barrel has the standard front sight with the noted artillery rear sight graduated from 1-8 (100-800 meters). It is fitted with a set of checkered walnut grips and has a nickel plated magazine with the correct wooden base with a partial Imperial proof.
