Desirable Slotted Pre-war 1937 Dated Polish VIS Eagle Radom Semi-Automatic Pistol

Estimate: $1100 - 1600
This is a fine representative example of a pre-war, pre-Nazi occupation Polish VIS, Radom pistol with a 1937 dated slide. These were designed for the Polish Army and Calvary and were originally issued with a wooden shoulder stock to fit into the slot on the back strap. These were well manufactured, pistols that after the fall of Poland, were eventually used by numerous Nazi Army units throughout the war. The left side of the slide is marked in two-lines, two-block "R.B RADOM/1937" and "VIS-wz.35/pat. Nr.15567" with the Polish Eagle in the middle. These do not carry any Nazi proofs (manufactured prior to Nazi invasion in 1939), but have the Polish proof and acceptance marks on both sides of the trigger guard bow and left side of the slide ahead of the decocking lever.
BBL: 4 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: black checkered plastic
Serial Number: 6075
Condition: Fine with 60% plus of the faded pre-war blued finish overall with edge and high spot wear with blue loss on the front and rear grip straps. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering with no cracks or damage. The pistol has a mismatched slide and barrel however both are original WWII versions. Still a very nice example of a scarce pre-war pistol.
