The German silver barrel is marked "UNWIN & RODGERS/PATENTEES. SHEFFIELD" on the left flat and "NON*XLL" on the right flat with the upper flat having two British proofs. The 3 inch spear point blade and 3 1/4 inch clip point blade are marked "NON*XLL/UNWIN &/RODGERS/PATENT" on the left ricasso. The spear point blade also has an etched scroll and eagle pattern with "SELF/PROTECTOR" on the left side. Cocking the hammer opens the breech for loading/unloading with the ears on the extractor acting as a rear sight. The knives and pistol are enclosed in a German silver case. It has a folding lid compartment for caps on the back strap. The scales are ivory with checkering on the grip area.

Condition: Fine. Most of the German silver remains with "El/noly" lightly marked on the front strap and some minor handling marks. The iron components have some very scattered pin point pitting. The fine blade retains most of the clear etching. The scales are also fine with some minor handling marks and a few stress cracks. The right scale has a repaired chip and a missing minor chip. Overall the checkering remains crisp. The ivory has an attractive color. Mechanically fine. This is most definitely one of the finest Urwin and Rodgers knife pistols that we have ever offered at auction!
