This is a very fine example of a pre-war Colt Single Action Army Revolver manufactured in 1928. The top of the barrel is roll-stamped with the one-line elongated block address "COLT'S PT.F.A.MFG.Co. HARTFORD CT.U.S.A.". The caliber: "38 W.C.F." is roll-stamped on the left side of the barrel. The left side of the frame is roll-stamped with the, two-line, "three-date" patent markings followed by the circled Rampant Colt trademark. The left front trigger guard bow is stamped with a Colt number "7" assembler's mark, over the Colt "VP inside a Triangle" verified proof. The full serial number "352804" is stamped on the bottom of the frame, the right side of the trigger guard and back strap (under the grips) and the back side of each grip is etched with number 7,188 and 1,113. The cylinder is, also correctly numbered "04" on the back side. The grips are checkered hard rubber and both have the Rampant Colt trademark embossed in an oval at the top. The ejector rod has the late style oval head and the civilian style hammer has a cone shaped firing pin and short bordered knurling on the spur.

Gauge: 38 WCF

The oversized replacement grips are in very good condition with even honest wear across the tops of the checkering and Rampant Colt logo. A very nice example of an original finish pre-war Colt Single Action Army revolver in the desirable 38 W.C.F. cartridge.
