This is a scarce example of an mid-production pre-WWII Krieghoff "S" code Luger as manufactured in limited quantities for the Luftwaffe. This Luger is marked with the early "S" code over the chamber which was the secret wartime code indicating manufacture in 1936, with only 4,000 "S" code Lugers produced during this year of manufacture. The pistol is an mid-production variation marked with the "H/K" letters on each side of the Krieghoff Anchor with only "SUHL", below that on the toggle. It has the typical military style serial number placement with the full serial number (2324) on the front frame, the left side of the receiver, with the last two digits on the various smaller parts. The right side of the barrel extension is marked with the Eagle acceptance proofs with the Krieghoff "Eagle/2" Luftwaffe acceptance proofs followed by the Luftwaffe test proof and small "Eagle/2" proof. The underside of the barrel is marked lengthwise with only the bore diameter and the "Eagle/2" proof. The pistol is fitted with a nice set of brown checkered plastic grips with the coarse checkering and the wide border. It has the standard early production unmarked nickel magazine with the cast aluminum base that is marked with the up side down "Eagle/2" over "2324".

Stock:
