This is a very desirable luger pistol wit only 600-700 total ever being manufactured for commercial sales. This model was a continuation of the earlier 1902 commercial Luger with these specifically intended for the US market. This pistol has the short old style frame with leaf springs and no stock lug, recessed breech block, dished toggles with toggle locks and grip safety. The barrel extension is also the short old model with the top of the chamber area market with the American Eagle roll markings with the front toggle marked with the "DWM" logo. Serial numbered in a commercial manner with the full serial number (23304) on the front of the frame, and underside of the barrel, with the partial serial number "04" on the various small parts. Inside the front frame recess and underside of the barrel extension is a small circled triangle proof. The lower safety position is unmarked and polished bright with the extractor correctly unmarked. This Luger is complete with an original unmarked nickel magazine with wooden base marked with the script 'Cal 9m/m' on the bottom.
BBL: 4 inch
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm
Finish: blue/straw colors
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 23304
Condition: Excellent as professionally restored with 99% of a professionally rust blued finish with nice sharp edges and corners and clear sharp markings. The various small parts also retain 98% of their straw colors overall. The grips are also in excellent condition with nice distinct checkering on both grip panels. The Luger has all matching numbers, however the frame number appears to be a factory restamp (with the original number) as the numbers are of a slightly different shape or design. Still a very scarce and very desirable early production 1902 American Eagle Luger.
