This is an excellent example of a commercial Model 1906 "American Eagle" Luger as produced by DWM factory. This type of Luger was manufactured expressly by the DWM factory for export to the United States and as this example has the scarce 3 7/8 inch barrel vs the longer fast tapper barrel and is chambered in the desirable "9mm" caliber. These early commercial Lugers were the best manfactured by the DWM factory with excellent fit and finish with beautiful rust bluing and straw colored small parts. This model has the correct short style frame and upper receiver with the flat toggles, short 3 7/8 inch barrel configuration with the distinctive grip safety and polished lower safety area. The top of the chamber area marked with the large distinct American Eagle crest with the DWM logo on the front toggle. The extractor is also correctly marked "LOADED" with the correct commercial style full serial number (29484) stamped on the underside of the barrel and front of the frame with the last two digits of the serial number (84) stamped on the various small parts. The front end of the frame is stamped "GERMANY" indicating export outside of Europe. The pistol is fitted with a set of correct checkered walnut grips. It is complete with a correct nickel plated magazine marked with "Cal 9m/m" in script on wooden base.

Excellent with 98% of the original blue finish overall with 98% of the refurbished straw colors. The checkered walnut grips are excellent on both sides. Mechanically excellent. This desirable Luger has all matching numbers except the magazine as noted above. A beautiful early Commercial Luger that is a primary model required for any Luger collection.
