Deluxe quality and extra-large size ornamented cross bow probably of Swiss or German origin formerly in the world-famous collection of Joe Kindig Sr. The bow measures 44 ½“ from tip to end and approximately 26” across extra thick forgedsteel bow. The stock appears to be rosewood inlaid with lighter colored fruit wood and shows silver gilted mountings. There is a pearl plaque inlaid behind the release with 3 engraved and inked fancy initials which appear to read S. L. B. The bowshows minor rust and erosion and normal aging. The stock is very good plus with just a few minor use and storage marks. We have never seen another bow of this design and style with silver mountings and it may be unique. 18th to 19th century.
