Featured in this lot is this oil painting of a Montana tribal village by Montana artist Dan Taulbee born in 1924 and died in 1987. The artwork shows a scene of a Montana tribal village with horses grazing on the hill side and also shows two armed Native American men watching the herd with a village scene in the distance by a river with hills and mountains in the distance. The artist signature can be seen in the bottom left hand corner with a coyote mark underneath the signature. Dan Taulbee was born in Charlo, MT in 1924 and learned from private instructors and travelled Montana for the inspiration for his western and Native American themed artwork. He has been exhibited in shows like Farnsworh Mus. Show; Peabody Mus. Show; NAD; Burr's Int. Show; Grand Central Galleries, NYC, 1970s; La Galleria, La Jolla, CA, 1970s. Awards: gold medal, Burr Gallery. He was beloved for his love for Montana and the beautiful landscape and interesting peoples therein. The condition of this framed oil painting is good with no obvious signs of damage and shows good overall condition. The measurements of this framed oil painting is 26 3/4" x 32 3/4" and the visible art measures 23 1/4" x 29 1/4".
