This model was made specifically for the Royal Portuguese Army with only about 5,000 total were produced. The top of the chamber is marked with the large Portuguese Crown over the "M2" crest of Manuel II and the top of the front toggle link is marked with "DWM". These models differ somewhat from a standard Luger in that the lower safety area has no markings, the extractor is marked "CARREGADA", it has a grip safety and no stock lug. The only proof marks are a triangle in a circle proof on the left side of the barrel extension and the bottom of the barrel. Visible numbers on pistol match. The trigger, take down lever, extractor and thumb safety are straw colored. The grips are checkered walnut versions and the magazine is nickel plated with the wooden base.
BBL: 4 3/4 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 7.65 mm auto
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut
Serial Number: 2615
Condition: Refurbished. The pistol retains half of the dull armory dip blue finish with a smooth brown patina on the grip straps and left side of the frame. The barrel is thinning and has areas of smooth gray patina and a patch of minor pitting on top of the barrel at the breech. There is some minor pitting on the front edge of the barrel extension, on the side rails and on the side plate. 30% of the original dull straw colors remain with a smooth dark mottled patina on the balance. The grips are good with some moderate wear, a few minor pressure dents and crisp checkering. The markings are clear. Mechanically excellent.
