Custom high relief panel scene engraved Winchester Model 1873 lever action rifle, .22 short cal., 24” octagon barrel, blue finish to barrel and loading tube, brass butt plate, wood butt stock and forend, Lyman adjustable tang sight, flip-upbead front sight, standard Winchester rear sight, #199575B. This gun is in overall very good to fine condition as expertly customized and beautifully engraved in the classic Germanic 19th century intertwined scroll style similar to the work ofL.D. Nimschke displaying no less than 6 panel scenes of game including a hunter shooting a bear on the receiver sideplate, plus a fancy additional high relief panel on the front right side of the receiver with ornate initials “WP” and the date“Dec 1887”; the breech of the barrel is also engraved as is the forend cap, the barrel breech single silver banded and the barrel muzzle double gold banded; the majority of a quality re-blue remains on the barrel assembly, the markings areclear, the bore fair and the wood very good as re-finished showing beautiful flame graining to the butt stock.
