Custom U.S. Colt Model 1860 Army Percussion Revolver
Manufactured in 1862, with a 3 screw frame cut for a shoulder stock. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U. S. America address flanked by dashes, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and the Texas naval battle scene on the cylinder. Inspector initials on various parts. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard, and backstrap and partial number "1649" on the cylinder, wedge and arbor pin. Fitted with a smooth walnut grip stamped with boxed "GDL" cartouche on the left side and boxed "JT" on the right side. There is a large "P.M." stamped (branded) in the middle of both sides of the grip.

Condition: Fine as period retailer refurbished (assembled), with 90% commercial blue finish remaining on the renumbered replacement civilian barrel with some thinning, muzzle and high edge wear, and a few minor scratches. The cylinder has a smooth mottled brown patina. The backstrap retains 60% blue finish with some scattered smooth brown patina. The frame shows some strong case colors with the balance having a smooth brown patina. The trigger guard has an aged patina. The grip is fine with a few minor dings and dents. Clearly visible cylinder scene and clear markings. The action is excellent.
