Manufactured from 1933 to 1963, the Model 42 was the first slide action shotgun developed by Winchester exclusively for the .410 bore. Single steel front bead and brass mid-bead sights on the vent matte rib, with standard barrel markings and 3 inch chamber choked full. The receiver made in 1950 features a floral scroll pattern surrounding a hunting scene with two gold inlaid dogs and a gold inlaid grouse on the left side and a three gold inlaid quail on the right side, the latter signed "N. Hartlier". Jeweled bolt and follower, checkered forearm with diamond pattern on bottom and pistol grip stock with a Decelerator solid recoil pad.
