Custom Cased Colt Model 1862 Police Percussion Revolver with Accessories
Manufactured in 1863. The top of the barrel has the one line New York U. S. America address, "COLTS / PATENT" on the left side of the frame and "36 CAL" on the left trigger guard shoulder. One of the cylinder flutes is marked with the 1850 patent date. Matching serial number on the barrel, frame, trigger guard and backstrap, and the wedge, rear of the cylinder and arbor pin are marked "1556". Fitted with a smooth varnished one piece walnut grip. Complete in a reproduction walnut case with green fabric lining, a Hawksley powder flask, iron Colt 44 1860 bullet mold, Winchester cap tin (partially full), nipple wrench/screwdriver and approximately 50 lead bullets.

Condition: Very fine as partially refinished (the barrel and cylinder). The barrel and cylinder retain 90% thinning blue finish (original on the cylinder) with muzzle and high edge wear. There are a few minor dings around the wedge. The frame and hammer retain 95% original bright case colors. The brass has an aged patina with traces of the original silver plating in protected areas and thin original silver on the butt. The grip is excellent with 95% original finish, a few small chips on the lower edge and overall a few minor dents and dings. The markings are crisp and clear. The action is excellent. The case is very good. All accessories are very good with some minor pitting on the otherwise very fine 1860 bullet mold.
