Manufactured in 1862. The top barrel flat is marked with the one-line New York U.S. America address, the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS/PATENT" and the cylinder is roll engraved with the stagecoach holdup scene. The matching serial number is marked on the bottom of the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard, back strap, with the partial serial number "16075" on the cylinder and wedge, "6705" on the loading lever and "607" is visible on the arbor pin. Fitted with a smooth one-piece walnut grip. Complete in a contemporary wooden case with jade green velvet lining. In the case is an eagle flask, iron two cavity bullet mold with "COLT'S/PATENT" marked sprue cutter, Sheffield cap tin, (partially full), and approximately 10 round lead balls.

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces are bright and there is some minor pitting on the barrel, hammer and cylinder. The brass has an aged patina with strong traces of the original silver plating on and around the trigger guard bow. The grip is fine with half of the original varnish, some lower edge wear and a few minor dents. 50% of the cylinder scene is visible. The markings are clear. The action is fine. The custom 20th Century case is very good with a few minor scuffs on the exterior and some minor contact wear on the lining. The flask is good with an aged patina. The screws are absent that secure the top. The bullet mold is good with a few dents and pitting, and a dark patina.
