This is a custom A.F. Stoeger marked long barrel Luger pistol. This example was custom converted/rebarreled in the 1920s era tradition as the barrel in not numbered, but has a very small "Crown/M" Naval proof on the underside and the barrel is stamped on top with a very small "MADE IN GERMANY". This example is correctly marked on the right side of the barrel extension "A.F. STOEGER INC./NEW YORK", with the "American Eagle" crest on the chamber area with a "Crown/ N" proof on the left side of the barrel extension. The "DWM" logo is stamped on the front toggle. It has standard fixed sights and markings. Standard nickel plated magazine with a wooden base that has the Navy pattern concentric circles on the sides. The bottom of the base is professionally marked "Cal 9 m/m".
BBL: 6 inch round
Stock:
Gauge: 9 mm Luger
Finish: blue
Grips: walnut checkered
Serial Number: 665m
Condition: Near mint as professionally remarked/restored, with 98% blue finish overall showing only minor edge wear and the various markings are all clear and distinct. The various small parts also retain 98% of their straw colors. The grips are very fine with nice distinct checkering, showing even honest wear across the tops of the checkering with some minor light pressure dents on both sides and some minor nicks. The markings on the barrel are clear and distinct but questionable. This pistol has matching numbers on the various parts except the barrel and magazine as noted above, the firing pin, and grips (which are unnumbered).
