Available for public purchase is an excellent fully beaded flat mirror bag from the Crow Native American Indians. The piece dates to the last quarter of the 19th Century to early 20th Century. The bag shows an Indian tanned hide construction with early trade canvas lining covered in excellent glass trade seed beads in colors such as chalk white, semi-transparent red white hearts, green, semi-transparent cobalt, corn yellow, sky padre blue, orange/red, and semi-transparent green. The bag shows a flat metal insert used as the mirror for its reflective qualities. The bag is very unique in design as both the front and back shows a playful curved edge with octagonal red white heart bordered center cutout. The top shows two rope beaded straps and the bottom shows a pigment mineral painted long Indian tanned hide fringe. This is one of the finest early mirror bags offered for sale shows very fine museum quality good condition with little to no bead loss. Measures overall 28"L x 5 5/8"W.
