This is an excellent authentic circa late 1800's early 1900’s fully beaded awl case from the Crow Apsaalooke Native American Indians of Montana. The piece shows a parfleche rawhide construction with Indian tanned hide covering showing all period correct early glass trade seed and petit beads in a linear geometric design. The beadwork shows chalk white, greasy blue, and red. The top flap shows Indian tanned hide with a fancy beaded border in a bifurcated split design with brass trade beads and rolled tin jingle cones. The top shows the original belt tie straps in Indian tanned hide and the base shows four braided Indian tanned hide fringe with rolled tin jingle cones at the base. The piece is in great condition with little to no bead loss at the bottom. Measures overall 25”L with fringe and top strap by 1 3/8”W.
