The lot features a Crow Apsaalooke Native American Indian whimsical beaded panel dating to the circa 1890’s. The piece shows a round shape constructed of Indian tanned hide with sinew and thread sewing having all period correct glass trade seed cen beads in chalk white, cobalt, sky light blue and dark green. The design is in a fine whimsical pattern with fancy edge. Provenance: From the private family collection of Sarah Alling of Helena, Montana. The family collection of Sarah Alling, a 5th Generation Montanan, began in the 19th Century and has grown since. Along with being an avid collector herself, Sarah co-founded with Bruce VanLandingham Sundog Fine Art of Bozeman, Montana which was both part museum and gallery. This piece measures 7" wide by 5 1/2" long and 2" thick.
