Contract Model 1816 U.S. flintlock musket by N. Starr converted to percussion, .69 cal., 42" barrel, iron ramrod, sling swivels, full wood stock. This gun is in overall very good to near fine condition showing a light grey patina to thebarrel with some scattered pinprick pitting; breech end of the barrel is U.S. marked and proofed with upper tang dated 1833; the lockplate and hammer show a pleasing dark plum colored patina with the lockplate also showing a crisplymarked U.S. with sunburst and N. Starr and dated 1834; the action is fine, the bore overall good and the stock near fine with clear inspector cartouches on the left side of the stock above the trigger guard and on the top of the butt stock in front of the U.S. marked steel butt plate; a beautiful example of this contract U.S. musket!
