Contemporary made exhibition quality pipe tomahawk measuring 19-1/2” from tip to end of mouth piece. The blade and bowl are nicely German silver inlaid. The left side of the blade shows engraved eagle with word“Liberty”. The edges of the blade are scalloped and there is border engraving. The pipe bowl is also sheathed in German silver and decoratively engraved. The reverse of blade shows a finely engraved portrait withthe ID “Old Hickory” showing Andrew Jackson. The end of the shaft is capped in German silver, hand engraved with a portrait of Indian princess, similar to Allentown Indian, which may be maker’s signature. The shaft is naturally striped wood of select quality and shows three nicely inlaid bands which are engraved “To Your Arms Soldier And Fight”. The mouthpiece area is also capped in German silver. Condition is fine to near excellent,there has been some slight sharpening at the edge of the blade and the tomahawk shows some carry and minor use. We would date it 20-50 years old.
