The lot features a nice 19th Century percussion black powder rifle collected from the Comanche Native American Indians of Northern Texas. The rifle shows an original wood stock with wonderful brass trade tack traditional designs with nice mellow original patina. The piece also shows an old, dried rawhide shoulder strap tied on at the trigger hand rest and ramrod frame. The piece shows a nice deep patina with a good amount of handling wear, a nice sign of age. The firearm is a side lock exposed side hammer percussion cap and ball black powder rifle with a nice half octagon and half round barrel. This is a nice representation of an authentic Indian Wars era weapon of the Southern Plains Comanche American Indians of Northern Texas. Provenance: From the Ex-Collection of Ted & Lilly Jarvis of Wyoming. The rifle measures overall 43 ¼ inches in length.
