Comanche Hunting Gathering Beaded Buffalo Bag
This is a beaded buffalo hide hunting gathering bag attributed to the Comanche Indian of Fort Sill, Oklahoma. The hunting bag is well kept and has the original shoulder strap still attached. It is comprised of Indian brain-tanned buffalo hide and is beaded on the front side and has fringe-cut edges framing the outside. The beadwork contains four large Maltese crosses done in chalk white on a medium blue background with red and chalk white., The closing flap has a fancy beaded design in the matching colors. The bag without the fringes measures 10 ½ inches wide by 11 inches long. Minor discoloration. From an Indiana collection of beadwork.
