A documenting letter by noted author and expert John A. Kopec states the following “mismatching cavalry revolvers with matched barrels are exceedingly scarce. Mr. Kopec observes that there were 7-1/2” Colt single action revolvers in the Philippines duringthe Spanish-American War and photographic evidence confirms this as fact and a number were issued to the Cubu Police. The frame and barrel match as previously stated. The back strap is numbered 19057, the triggerguard is numbered 155933. The cylinder is numbered 1270 with “P” inspection and early cylinder stops. The grips are slightly undersized and show a small loss at the left toe but gen very good. The barrel shows75-85% original blue with correct feathering around front sight. The ejector rod housing shows 75% plus original blue, fits well and is early style. The frame shows 50-70% mottled and aging case colors with some
