Colt model 1895 .38 caliber double-action revolver, US Navy marked and accepted. 6” barrel, blued finish, hardrubber grips, serial #226531, Navy issue number 16331 with butt showing large USN, anchor, and .38 DA.The left front triggerguard bow shows a star proof with “W” stamp which is repeated on the back of the cylinder. The revolver remains in very good plus original condition showing 78-85% commercial quality blue finish, somescattered erosion and pinprick pitting just starting. An index line between the cylinder stops, good markings, and some bright blue where protected. The commercial quality hardrubber grips are very good plus also. The front sight is its full height. The action is good, the bore is near excellent. A difficult Colt martial revolver to obtain in better than average condition. Est: $1,000 - $2,000
