Colt model 1863 special rifled musket, .58 caliber, 39-1/4” barrel, secured by three barrel bands. In near excellent condition showing its original bright finish and good inspector’s cartouches. Dated 1864. The rifle shows most of its original arsenal bright finish with just some minimal areas of erosion just starting. The stock also near excellent with fully visible cartouches, a few dings and mars. No losses along cleaningrod channel, just a couple of dings in the right side of the buttstock. Sharp markings, most arsenal blue on sight, bore excellent. Shows no use, just some minor storage. A strong 9.5 on 1-10 scale. From the JohnGoodlad collection. Est: $3,000 - $5,000
