Colt model 1861 Navy revolver, converted to .38 caliber centerfire, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, Navy inspected, with RWM and Anchor on bottom of barrel, serial #6557. The barrel shows 30-60%original arsenal blue finish that is evenly drifting and toning with some slight erosion, pinprick pitting, a few bumps and mars, normal aging. The ejector rod housing shows traces of blue in protected ages, the balance drifted to patina. The cylinder shows 20-30% scene, and is a matching patina with traces of blue. The frame and hammer show 30-50% case hardening going dark, with some colors still visible. The wood grips are good withsome darkening, minor nicks, mars, small losses, normal aging. The Colt shows all matching serial numbers with conversion number “557” stamped beneath the original percussion number 89529, which was arsenalaccomplished at time of conversion. The front sight has been slimmed slightly. The action is good, bore very good. A good representative Navy/Navy Conversion. Est: $3,250 - $6,500
