Colt model 1861 Navy, .36 caliber percussion, 7-1/2” round barrel, dark patina finish with traces of blue, wood grips, serial #25045. The barrel shows a deep and dark brown patina with traces of original blue and some verystrong blue beneath the ramrod. The barrel address is sharp, the cylinder shows 20-40% light cylinder scene within matching dark patina, also showing some finish mixed in. The frame, hammer, and loading lever showtraces of case hardening within a smoky brown patina. The grips are good with even wear to the edges, some small dings, mars, and very minor imperfections. There are some very light scratching type marks in the butt which are some sort of owner’s identifications. All matching visible serial numbers, tight action, sharp rifling. Wedge is matching. Bore is good to very good. A better than average 61 Navy which is untouched an out ofan old Texas collection. There may be factory information on a serial number this high for this model.
