Colt model 1860 Army revolver, .44 caliber percussion revolver, 8” barrel, traces of blue and case hardened finish, arsenal replaced wood grips, serial #164581. The barrel shows 20-40% original blue drifting to brown with some bright areas of inky blue still showing. There is some muzzle wear at the left front of muzzle from being carried in a right hand holster. The cylinder shows 20-40% light original cylinder scene and isgoing to a dark patina with some light to moderate erosion and pinprick pitting and some slightly heavier pitting at the edge near the front of the cylinder. The frame, loading lever, and hammer show good traces of case hardening drifting to patina with some rainbow colors on the rammer where protected. The grips are not a good fit and show a small inspector’s mark “M” on bottom right grip and are the type recognized as arsenalreplacements. All matching visible serial numbers, matching wedge.
