Colt model 1851 Navy revolver, Richards Mason type conversion to .38 rimfire caliber, 1871/72 patent dates on left side of frame, serial #3027, with plugged barrel, ejector rod and housing added. Plate added to back of frame. Rimfire hammer secured by two pins. The Navy has been expertly refinished and shows 98% correct type nickel finish with bright blued small parts and screws. Beautifully made burl wood grips of a later period. Edges have been kept sharp and crisp and cylinder shows most of original scene and engagement dates. The action is crisp. The bore fine. All matching visible serial numbers. Some numbers appear enhanced or restruck. The quality of the restoration is excellent. A very attractive Navy conversion. Refer Flayderman 5B-121.
