Colt model 1851 Navy, .36 caliber percussion, US Navy marked with iron guard and backstrap, serial #58907. The Navy remains in original good condition with approx. 50-60% of a thinning old arsenal refinish, somescattered light to moderate pitting and erosion. Cylinder scene is sharp and retains approx. 80-90% scene with clear engagement dates and Ornsby signature. Good sharp Colt’s Patent and US on left side of frame.Cylinder is “P” proofed. Backstrap is marked with small “U.S.N.” The action is tight, the interior is very good plus. The frame and lever show some mottled case hardening. All matching serial number except the loadinglever which is #6275 and an old correct style replacement. The grips are good with normal edgewear and smoothing to the bottom of each grip with a couple of small losses at the toes. An acceptable example of a Navy Navyfrom the Dr. Sterling Fenn collection.
