Colt model 1849 pocket model, .31 caliber percussion, 5” barrel, 2-line New York address, 5-shot cylinder, small guard, deluxe scroll engraved with panel scene, serial #77686. The engraving is very finely cut in a style similar to cloud scroll with small vignette of reclining doe on left side of barrel lug. The right side of the barrel lug shows fine engraving with cloud and scroll motifs, and exceptionally well cut and detailed deluxe engraving throughout with engraving on front of cylinder. Approx. 60% cylinder scene remains. The pistol retains strong traces of original finish within a grayish brown patina. The ivory grips have been broken and repaired and polished and are now fair to good. All matching visible serial numbers, and triggerguard shows a Union type shield within the scroll. These cloud scroll engraved Colts with borders are normally attributed to Gustav Young and similar in style to several engraved Dragoons of the same era. Est: $7,000 - $12,000

Little John's will pay for packing and materials. Buyer pays actual costs of shipping and insurance. All International purchases will be sent to an exporter for shipment to foreign countries.
