Colt civilian First Model Dragoon percussion revolver, .44 cal., 7-1/2” barrel, U.S. marked frame but silver plated straps and varnished wood grips without inspector cartouche, blue and case hardened finish,#7914. This gun is in overall uncleaned very good + condition showing approx. 20% original blue in protected areas of barrel assembly, traces of original case colors on the frame, loading lever and hammer and all matchingvisible serial numbers; cylinder scene is very good to fine with some scattered areas of pitting; crisp action, sharp markings, considerable original silver on backstrap and traces of silver on trigger guard; grips are very good to fine with some even wear and loss to finish. This gun is accompanied by a classic period leather holster with large skirt in overall fair to good condition showing wear and some repair stitching; boththe gun and holster are a one lot consignment from an Oregon family where the pieces descended to the consignor thru earlier generations; first time offered on the collector market.
