Colt Woodsman .22 caliber pre-war semi-automatic pistol with 6 ½” barrel, blue finish, checkered wood grips in early productions series number 46. Shipped to H.F. Nielsen Arms Co., July 20, 1915, in a onegun shipment. The subject pistol shows a tapped muzzle and threaded on screw on cap originaly intended for use with of sound suppression device probably Maxim. The pistol shows approximately 20% to 40% original blue evenly drifting intoning to a grayish Brown patina. There is some light to moderate scattered erosion and pinprick pitting. The grips are good with oil staining and normal wear. The markings are good and show earlyrampant Colt at rear of slide and early address. The action is good and the bore is also good. A two-tone Colt marked clip is included. These low 2 digit Colts are always desirable and this Woodsman was made in 1styear of production 1915. . From the collection of Joe Kiser former president of Colt Collectors Association and one of the Western United States most renowned old-time collectors. Estimate $1500-$3000
