Colt U.S. martially-marked SAA Artillery Model revolver, .45 cal., 5-1/2” barrel, blue and case hardened finish, wood grips, #2463 (#131887 on trigger guard, #8445 on cylinder that is R.A.C. inspected and no number onbackstrap). This gun is in overall very good + condition showing considerable arsenal re-blue on barrel assembly and cylinder with ample traces of case color on the frame and hammer; bore is very good, action is crispand grips are very good with R.A.C. inspector marks on butt of left grip; no visible inspector’s cartouches on the grips. This gun is accompanied by a Colt factory letter indicating shipment to the Springfield Armory on December 13, 1900, 100 guns in shipment with the following remarks: “The original records pertaining to this revolver were lost or destroyed many years ago. However, our records do indicate the return o0f thisrevolver for refurbishing and subsequent reshipment as noted above. It is of further interest to note that the majority of the revolvers received during this time frame had 5-1/2” barrels. The refurbishing consisted
