Manufactured in 1912, this pistol is one of 500 pistols shipped to Benicia Arsenal, Benicia, California on November 6, 1912. The left side of the slide is marked with the two line, two block 1897-1911 patent dates and address with the circled Rampant Colt behind the serrations, the left side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" and has the circle "WGP" inspection mark of Major Walter G. Penfield above the magazine release. The rear of the slide is marked "H" above the firing pin and the right side is marked "MODEL OF 1911 U.S. ARMY", with the serial number on the right side of the frame behind the slide stop. Smooth trigger, checkered slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release and wide spur hammer. Standard lower profile fixed sights, with the early variation rounded rear sight, lanyard loop on the heel, two tone unmarked magazine with lanyard loop on the bottom and fitted with checkered walnut grips with diamond pattern around the screws.

Condition: Professionally restored to near mint condition. The magazine has also been restored and remains very good. The grips are as new. The markings are highlighted in white and remain clear and crisp. Mechanically excellent.
