Manufactured in 1854. The revolver has the round brass trigger guard and rectangular cylinder stops found on Third Model Dragoons. The top flat of the barrel is marked: "ADDRESS SAML COLT NEW YORK CITY-", the left side of the frame is marked "COLTS / PATENT" marking over "U.S." and the left upper front of the trigger guard is marked with a small "V". The cylinder is roll-engraved with the Ranger and Indian fight scene and "MODEL U.S.M.R./COLT'S PATENT" legend and the matching serial number. The complete matching serial number is stamped on the barrel lug, frame, trigger guard and backstrap, and the professionally remarked partial number "3754" on the loading lever, the wedge is remarked "3784, and the arbor pin is marked "37??". Standard brass blade front sight and hammer notch rear sight and fitted with smooth one piece walnut grips with a small German silver shield inset on the left side.

Condition: Good. The metal surfaces have a smooth dark mottled gray patina with several minor dings on the barrel lug and frame. The trigger guard and back strap have a aged patina. The cylinder scene is nearly half intact. The grip is revarnished with a period applied German silver plaque on left side, some heavy lower edge wear, and some overall scattered minor dings. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
