Manufactured in 1883, this revolver was produced without provision for an ejector housing. Fixed sights, with the two-line Hartford address on top of the barrel and "COLT D.A. 38" in an etched panel on the left side. The underside is marked "39626B" in electric pencil. Nickel finished frame, with three-date, three-line patent marking on the left side, proper elongated and checkered cylinder pin, and "113" on the loading gate. Matching numbers on the cylinder, frame and grip straps. Fitted with smooth two piece pearl grips.

Condition: Very fine with 80% original finish with scattered minor flaking and a couple of small areas of spotting on the barrel. The acid etched panel is very fine with a few patches of surface rust. The hammer and trigger retain 60% of the original niter blue finish. The hammer and frame screws have been placed in the wrong hole and the trigger screw slightly protrudes on the left side. The fine period correct replacement grips are oversized with a few minor nicks on the edge and some minor scratches and handling marks. The markings are clear. The action is fine.
